I am so glad we can give each support in this, Lorna. I do hope others will be able to join in in due course.
Like you, I decided to be sensible yesterday and not to do any more. I lay down to rest for "half an hour" at noon and woke up 2 hours laterBigGrin Today, I am going to the gym again. It's so nice to feel muscle aches as opposed to just joint aches after so long. Have a good day.

Hi Alice,

Well I got up rairing to go, after breakfast I started my routine: 30 / 20lb Back and Pectorial muscles ( working arms/chest) Then 30 / 40lb calf and quadracept muscles my daughters friend told me the names of them. Smile Then I did 100 walking steps on my stepper. Then 5 mins vigourous workout on my exercise bike and finally 5 mins different stretches. Feel I could do more but I will wait and see how much I ache later. Smile

I have surprised myself how much I am starting to enjoy this, I eat sensibly and healthy but I tend to pick. Having said that I have done so less since starting this routine. My older daughter gets married in 2 years, she is 3/4 of her way through a PHD in Muscle Biology so that has to be completed first before any plans for a wedding.

Thankyou for inspiring me to get motivated I have tried for so long and give up too easily, but I will continue to try to increase gradually and you never know I may be a slim mum at the wedding. ThumpUp

That's fantastic, Lorna. What a good workout. We seem to be feeling our way around the weights in a similar manner.
I went to the gym today for an hour and surprised myself by lifting 5kg per hand in squats, etc. Far less than you, I know, but it's not a competition, is it? Didn't touch my lateral hip raises as the ligaments there are still sore from the workout a few days ago. I feel great although it must also be because I'm on week 3 of the reinstated Enbrel and I could sing.

Had a wave of fatigue whilst talking to someone at work today but I just relaxed into it and went on talking and everything was fine.

I haven't been out but have put up three loads of washing and hoovered.

And that made me tired!

Dear Joanna,

Had you managed the mopping before? If not, what an achievement! I remember the times last year when I couldnt manage the hoovering or mopping with its repetitive elbow action. Now, all you need to do is hold that mop with both your hands and bend the elbows 15 times: you have got your first set of 15 reps with a weight!!!
More seriously, do check any exercise regime with your rheumy team firstThumpUp

Hi all, I am back on the pred at 15mg so feel better after 3 days. Last week was walking around holding onto furniture as so much pain. When walking with buggy was using it as a piece of equipment lol!! Today walked the dogs first time in 2 weeks, God bless pred!! I know its not the answer, but then the meds dont seem to work for me either. Good luck everyone, and keep up the good work!!Smile

Went to the GYm yesterday and used all 9 machines. After advise I used the Slow button, but added my own resistance to that. Tried to do a count of 10 for arms, then rested then doing 10 of legs.

I am going to suggest that they move the machines into reverse order - but the time I have used them all it is a very long walk, back to the beginning (joke)
